Sortof a gift art for , I was itching to draw and she gave me a Gaia avatar version of her character to base a pic off of. No refs other than that. ^^ But I tried to design the clothes and color scheme better than that of the Gaia avatar version.
So this is Princess Ketchup, apparently she is a princess who can kick ass and is quite evil. >.> Counterpart to Musa's character Prince Mustard. o_o Boy is Musa random. XD Anyway! Tried to mess around with poses this time, and to combine some different colors. *plays around with prismas*
Hope she likes it. ^^
And the symbols are kanji I looked up that are supposed to say "Princess Ketchup" but I'm not sure if I got it right. >.>
EDIT Resubmitted with actual Kanji. >.> And um. Didn't screw around on Photoshop as much this time, so its more natural colors from the pencils.
colours!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
try using some dark purple to shade red, especially when there's other purple. the pose is neaaaaaaaat
also.... i dont think the kanji says princess ketchup. the last kanji is "go" which means language-type...
i think the first kanji could be right, but my dictionary says 王女. as for ketchup... it's not a word in japanese, as far as i know. so that's ケッチャップ。 so the total name would be 王女のケッチャップ (oujyo ketchup; ketchup is (the) princess, like speaking about her?) kind of long, eh? ケッチャップお姫さま (ketchup ohimesama; princess ketchup, as if calling her name) i think is the other way you can write it. o_x
if you get compelled to fix it, you can always write it on a new piece of paper and cut it out and scan it on top of the old stuff (probably a better way than white out >_>

Oh wow thank you! I need your dictionary, I just randomly looked up stuff. >.> Which probably didn't really work. I'll fix it. *is a stickler for those things* I can just erase, its not a big deal, its pencil after all.
Thanks for the advice on the coloring as well! I tried to color a little with the purple on the back/sides/whatever you want to call it on the legs, but I don't think I did it enough, the blending is confusing for me as this is like my third coloring attempt ever. XD
the awesome thing about prismacolour pencils is that you can burnish and get nice, bold blended colours. burnishing is just filling an entire area with colour and wearing down the grain of the paper--if you do this, you should be able to see a bit of sheen. you can blend stuff this way, too. little circles usually works best for mixing the colours (it's just wax and pigment, after all ) if you haven't already, you might wanna try out the pencils just on a piece of paper so you dont have to worry about messing up a drawing and see how they can blend and stuff. have fun with it XD (RAINBOWS!!!!!!! XD)

Yep I've tried to blend on a completely random piece of paper, but can't do it quite right when I have to blend on a smaller scale. Thats actually one of my issues, I can't get ALL of the paper's texture down and it leaves white parts that aren't colored. ._. *sad*
Thanks for the advice about the little circles, I'll try to do that instead of trying to use straight shading all the time. (though I tend to circle shade sometimes) I think it'll work out, I just need to practice more. ^^
for some colours you have to press harder than others... i forget which colours... you should try making a (smallish) gradient to practice with. lay down red yellow and blue next to each other and try getting that orange and green to come through between them by blending also.. you can't always burnish unless you have the HUGE pencil set that's like.. every colour or if you're REALLY good at blending.

*nod* That would take a lot of money to get a full set like that, its about a buck a piece it seems. o_o I'll work on the blending then on paper where I haven't actually drawn anything. ^^ Ugh I need that life drawing class so badly. XD
